Emphasis is placed on disorders of greatest relevance to small animal practice. Topics include the diagnosis and management of systemic hypertension; the clinical use of biomarkers of myocardial disease; management of dogs with degenerative mitral valve disease; the diagnosis and management of pericardial effusion in dogs; management of dogs with heart disease and arrhythmias; syncope in cats, and recognition and management of feline cardiomyopathies. The morning sessions are lectures and the afternoon sessions are focused on active audience participation using case studies, audience response units, and multimedia.  614-292-8727
